Homecomings are always my favorite thing to capture. Having a husband who is military, I feel personally connected to each and every homecoming client I have. This particular homecoming was extra special. Their homecoming date was pushed out 3 or 4 times! Could you imagine? Being told their coming home, then getting a big never mind. None the less this is one very strong family as is most every military family I come in contact with. I was honored to be the one to capture their most precious day.
Bri contacted me because her current photographer had emergency circumstances making her unable to photograph their homecoming. She told me she couldn’t give me an exact date or time, but a ball park. For most photographers this is hard due to other bookings, but homecomings are my top priority. I assured her I would be there no matter the time or day. I believe she felt a bit of relief. Over the next couple of weeks, we stayed in touch until the day was finally here. She got out of the car and greeted me with her beautiful blue eyed baby girl. Only 11.5 months old. I instantly couldn’t wait to photograph her meeting her daddy all over again. He left when she was only 4 months old.
When the guys walked through the door after being gone for 196 days, you could tell they were tired, but so happy to be greeted by their loved ones! It was a very beautiful reunion!
